6 Things To Do On A Rainy Day

I love rain, I don't know why. There's just something I enjoy about chilling at home with cosy blankets and TV all the while hearing the rain hit the windows in the background. However sometimes, rain can be quite restrictive on plans for the weekend or holidays. So here are a few things you could do on a rainy day if you're bored or had to cancel plans!

BOARD GAMES

Nothing's better than having family or friends sitting around the dining table, getting stuck into a board game like Monopoly or Cluedo. I'm one of those people who forget how much fun board games can be until I actually sit down and play one. It's a great opportunity to take some time away from electronics too, as often some board games can take a while (I'm looking at you..Monopoly..)

READ

I love reading so much, I read everyday but I don't think many people think they have the time to read. Everyone has the time to read. If you have time to mindlessly check Instagram 20 times a day, you have time for a chapter a day. I'm four chapters away from finishing Emma by Jane Austen at the moment, and recently finished The Great Gatsby (which was the work of gods!!). Reading is such a comforting activity to do on a cold rainy day.

SWITCH UP YOUR ROOM

Sometimes when I have to stay in all day, I get house fever and need to move about. But its difficult to do that when its raining outside. So, tidying your room or any room in your house is a great way to move about as its productive and I find I am often moving up and down my bedroom. Switching up your room for Autumn is also really fun as you don't even have to spend loads of money on new decor.

PINTEREST

I recently started using Pinterest again and while it still confuses me a bit I love just sitting at my computer or on my phone scrolling through pins. Not only is it so aesthetically pleasing to look at but it also it can be really inspirational. The number of ideas for christmas presents, birthday presents, recipes etc I have found is huge.

DRAW

Even if you don't think you're talented at drawing (Lord knows I'm not). A trend at the moment which I'm loving are adult colouring books, so why not take that a step further and draw something you're proud of? The last time I sat down and actually just drew for 3 hours was two years ago and I ended up being so proud of it, so I really need to try something like that!

HOLD YOUR OWN FILM FESTIVAL

Bunch together a load of your favourite films and or films you want to see that you haven't before, and snuggle under the blankets with hot chocolate. You can invite friends etc or just chill on your own with your cat. I love just spending a day completely relaxed watching a few of my fave films.

Do you have any suggestions?

  4. Hello! I love your blog so much; you have a really beautiful design! I just created a super long list of productive things to do in my free time, perhaps I'll turn it into a blog post!!! I just get up really early so that I have time for myself etc but I often find myself with nothing to do and I don't want to waste a single moment of my life because there's so little of it. Anyway, you've helped me add to the list!!! I have followed your blog because I think it’s so good!!! I would love it if you had a look at my blog; I’m a very passionate teenage blogger but I’m quite new and really need the support! Perhaps we could become friends? Thank you so much, Jeani xxx www.jeanithoughts.blogspot.co.uk
