5 Things In May

Long time, no see! Well, it's been 12 days - but that is one of the longest breaks we've had on the blog before. Initially the lack of posts was due to a few exams in that week, but another - heartbreaking - thing occurred which explains the absence. I thought I would start a mini series in which I share five things that happened in that particular month, good or bad or funny!

GCSE BIOLOGY ONE EXAM

The GCSE B1 exam was on the 17th May, and sparked up quite some drama online and in the news. Abida and I sat it and the gist is: there was next to no biology! It was quite odd, obviously it was recognisable as a biology exam, but there were questions about companies, for example. I have no idea how well I did - I felt confident in the exam hall, but that has faded. We'll see in August!

DEATH - RIP 27.11.42-18.05.16

Unfortunately, my grandma passed away unexpectedly the day after the exam. The funeral is on Wednesday, which will be my first funeral. I'm heartbroken but some days are easier than others. I'm actually going up north to see my grandad tomorrow, which will be nice.

BROCCOLI FRITTERS

My mum and I looked through a healthy cookbook after our run, whilst drinking smoothies the other week, I felt very quintessentially healthy. One recipe that stood out to be were 'broccoli fritters'. I cooked them last Thursday, and I loved them! They are great served cold with guacamole and some tomato and cucumber on the side. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get a photo of them, however they weren't the most photogenic of foods anyway!

CATSITTING

If you've been reading this blog for a very, very long time, you may recall me catsitting a white kitten with the name 'Phoebe' and Abida frequently tagging along. This half term I have the opportunity to do it again, so I am very excited! She was my first catsitting job, so I have a lot of emotiona attachment to that bundle of fur, haha. She has one blue eye and one green eye, and is insanely cuddly - there is not a moment where she isn't on someone!

MARBLE BACKGROUND

I know, I know! Everyone seems to use marble backgrounds for their blogposts at some point or another. I genuinely love that aesthetic, so I printed an A4 sheet of a marble image - its a free way to get the background! It was used in my April Favourites post, which did really well & received a lot of views. I'm very proud of the photography in that post, so I'm glad you guys enjoyed it.

What happened for you in May?

Byeee! X
