The Hair Edit

I've accumulated quite a few miracle working haircare products over the past few months, and since we haven't done a specific hair related post before, I thought I would do a rundown of the products I have trialled and tested and loved. My hair is quite thick, prone to frizz and dryness.

OGX COCONUT MILK SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER

I use these every 5 days or so when washing my hair. They are very moisturising and nourishing, which is important for me in a shampoo and conditioner! I tend to leave the conditioner in for 5 minutes or so before washing it out. I also really like the VO5 Give Me Moisture shampoo & conditioner. Both of these lather up really well and moisturise the hair amazingly.

TRESEMME KERATIN SMOOTH DEEP TREATMENT MASQUE

I recently bought this because I didn't want my straighteners to damage my hair too much, especially after 2 years of not using heat on it. Keratin is a protein that helps strengthen hair and help it grow healthier. It smells amazing, and has a thick consistency that gives so much moisture to my hair and replenishes it! It definitely helps frizz-prone hair too.

TRESEMME KERATIN SMOOTH HEAT ACTIVATED TREATMENT

I haven't used this yet because I only bought it a week or so ago. However, the concept is that it is a serum that you put on towel-dried, damp hair before you straighten it later on, to make the hair straighter and for longer. I can't wait to try this out with my straighteners!

OGX ARGAN EXTRA PENETRATING OIL

I decided to buy this one instead of the regular OGX argan oil instead because I thought that the extra powerful oil would protect and smooth my frizz-prone hair. I like to use this on the ends of my hair every night, and it helps restore moisture for the morning.

VO5 HEAT PROTECT SPRAY

There isn't really much to say about this, besides I basically spray this on the section of my hair I am about to straighten. It can be a bit damp at first, so I do have to wait a few minutes before applying heat as not to bring too much damage to my hair.

PERCY & REED WONDER OVERNIGHT RECOVERY

This came free with June's ELLE magazine. I haven't used it in the way it says to just yet: basically it is a conditioning treatment with a cream texture that you put in your hair and sleep in, the next day you wash your hair and it is silky smooth! I haven't tried it out this way yet, but I love putting it on the ends of my hair to keep them moisturised.

ELEMIS FRANGIPANI MONOI OIL

I have the mini version of this because the full size is fairly expensive. This is an oil which you can apply to your body and/or hair. It is quite heavy-duty stuff so you have to be very careful when applying but it does wonders! It almost acts like a straightener too, as it tames the frizz and waves while nourishing the hair. I couldn't live without this stuff!

GHD IV STYLERS

Luckily I got these on sale for £20 off, so they were just £80. The ghd IV stylers are the cheapest straighteners on the website, and work brilliantly. They have ceramic plates and rounded edges so you have the option to make curls if you want. These straighteners tame my hair perfectly and the straightness lasts a very long time.

Have you tried any of these brands? What products do you use on your hair?
