6 Simple Ways to Help Your Skin

Hey guys. Quick life update in case you missed our last post, Abida and I have quite a few GCSEs coming up as well as Year 10 exams - especially in the next week! Unfortunately due to this, blogging will take a slight backseat while we focus on revision and grades. We still want to create good content though, so there will be posts, just not as frequent!

With that aside, let's get into the post. Recently I have started doing these few things and have noticed a huge difference in my skin. Just last year my face was covered in red spots, and since practising these tips (and with a bit of luck!) my skin has really cleared up.

STOP TOUCHING YOUR FACE

It's easy to lean your chin in your palm for ages and just forget about it, but it can actually contribute to breakouts a lot. Touching your face transfers bacteria from your hands. Try to make a conscious effort to limit the amount of times you touch your face, you should notice a big difference!

FIND OUT WHAT SKIN TYPE YOU ARE

Knowing what skin type you are: be it oily, normal, dehydrated, dry or combination; will work wonders for your skin! You'll be able to know what skincare will work for you, what makeup will work for you and the knowledge really helps.

ESTABLISH A CONSISTENT SKINCARE ROUTINE

Switching up skincare products regularly can confuse your skin & cause it to break out. Finding products that work for you and sticking to them will really benefit your complexion. Simple steps: cleanse, tone, moisturise. Once you find those three products that work for you and your skin, add in others like eye cream or serums - depending on whether or not your skin need the extra work.

MAKEUP FREE DAYS

I'm not talking about ditching makeup altogether here or anything, don't panic! But, giving your skin a breather from makeup at least once or twice a week will help refresh your complexion.

DRINK WATER!

You've probably heard everyone and their mums say this one piece of skin advice: "drink more water!!" and its true! Recently I have been aiming for 2 litres everyday, I actually use an app to help track my water intake and to keep me motivated to drink more. Water helps rehydrate your cells and benefits proper circulation of nutrients in the body. Water has many benefits - skin is just one of them!

RELAX AND MINIMISE STRESS

When I first heard this piece of advice, I didn't believe it. But since, I have noticed that when I am stressed I definitely break out more. Pinpoint the stress sources in your life and try to minimise them; exams: create a revision schedule and ask your teacher for advice! friendship issue: talk to a parent and let your friend know how you feel. Relieving stress not only makes you feel better, but can give your skin a happy, clear glow.

Do you do any of these tips? What tips work for you?

Byeee! x
