How To Stay Positive During Exams

Mocks are coming up, and while they're obviously not as important as the GCSEs in May/June, they're important in the sense that they reveal your strengths & weaknesses. I think its important to treat mocks like the real thing but in a smaller scale. But during any exam period its so easy to get caught up in the stress of it all, especially with pressure from teachers, its easy to forget self-care and how to stay positive.

HAVE ANOTHER ACTIVITY
Its easy to get so caught up in exams that all you do is revise, eat, sleep. But having another thing to do in your free time will help maintain sanity and keep things in perspective so you don't get too stressed. Be it sport, dance, meeting up with friends, blogging, it could be anything. I like to play the piano and blog (although both do take a backseat during exam period).

SLEEP OVER REVISION
I'm not saying don't revise, but what I'm saying is don't revise to the point you get less than 7 hours of sleep - especially the night before the exam. Even if you revise loads, but you get bad quality sleep, you won't perform well despite the extra revision. Keep on top of deadlines by completing revision first thing so you can take care of your sleep schedule as well as your revision schedule.

START EARLY
Revising a couple of nights before is never going to work unless you're a genius. Start however early you need to, I'd say about a month before mocks is a good time considering they're not the real deal. Prioritise the subjects you struggle with most, so you can get a good foundation on those and then build up the stronger subjects.

PAMPER YOURSELF
When coping with exam pressure and stress it's easy to forget to take care of yourself and your mind. Run a hot bath and apply a face mask, read a book and meditate for 10 mins before bed. Little things like this can will slow down your mind and allow you to be present instead of worrying about the exam in two weeks time.

Do you have any other tips?
