Saturday Morning Routine

I love waking up on Saturdays because its like a breath of fresh air after five days of school, homework and usually witnessing the drama of teenage girls. Saturdays are my favourite days, since I do the homework the day its set so weekends are officially reserved for relaxation. I love to nourish my body with products and food, relax and take the opportunity to slow down.

I wake up at 7:30 to take the pill and drink a pint of water. Drinking water when you wake up has so many benefits: it rehydrates you after 8 hours sans water, and quickens your metabolism in preparation for your breakfast.

I usually like to read a few blogposts when I wake up as often I find them inspirational, which helps set my mood for the day ahead.

For breakfast I always eat either two weetabix with a green tea or bananas in raspberry yoghurt (is it bad that sometimes I have both when I just can't decide??? no shame!)

After eating, I complete my oh-so-simple skincare routine. It consists of using this Garnier face wash (not my fave but budget friendly so it'll do), then I tone with the blogger-loved La Roche-Posay Serozinc, I apply my Vitamin E Eye Cream and then my Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser - both by The Body Shop.
Next I complete my looooong toothbrushing process because braces are high maintenance and jump into the shower.

In the shower I always switch up the shower gel I use. At the moment I'm loving Mandara Spa washes like this frangipani scented one and also this honey scented wash. Both of which Abida very kindly gifted to me.

Five minutes later and I'm dressed with my hair shoved into a ponytail all day every day - and it;s time to do my makeup. My everyday makeup for autumn is going to be up very soon so if you're interested keep your eyes peeled :) Usually I write a blogpost and take a few photos after this, and catch up on some Friday night TV I missed whilst a guides the evening before.

What is your favourite day?

  2. For me I'm much more of a Sunday kind of girl. Sunday's for me are the complete lazy days, whereas I usually try and do something on a Saturday! I love starting my morning or ending my day reading blog posts, there's something about reading people's posts that I find inspirational too! xx
